Last week, Mothers against Drunk Drivers (MADD) volunteers and staff teamed with law enforcement departments across the country for the first National Saturation Saturday Campaign – a coordinated effort to get impaired drivers off the road.
To prevent drunk and drugged driving in advance of the heavy travel expected over the Labor Day weekend, Saturation Saturday saw more sobriety checkpoints, increased DUI patrols, and other enforcement to send a message to drivers that impaired driving is against the law and those who offend will be subject to an Illinois DUI charge.
Saturation Saturday was initiated in Missouri in 2017 and made its way to Illinois last year. This year, Saturation Saturday made its national debut with 14 states implementing the program. Saturation Saturday coincides with the NHTSA’s Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over campaign already underway – a national effort to raise awareness and increase drunk driving enforcement from August 16 to Labor Day.
Illinois State Police Troopers have joined the 2019 Saturation Saturday and Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over campaigns resulting in numerous drunk driving arrests. Those convicted of Illinois DUI offenses may face license suspension, fines and possible jail time depending on the circumstances of their case. An Illinois DUI conviction is serious and can have long lasting consequences. It is important to seek experienced legal representation if you have been charged with Illinois DUI.
Awesome Results!! Ron litigated for a friend of mine that had a DUI with multiple cars involved in an accident. Ron was able to get 9 counts eliminated and my friend will have a CLEAN driving record after a brief period of supervision. We could not have received a better result!! Ron delivers! He is very honest and does not over promise but I have used him twice now and he has always come through! ~ Carl
