High-Profile Illinois Divorce Settlement Reached

Heading off a widely anticipated public trial regarding a disputed prenuptial agreement, Ken Griffin and Anne Dias Griffin settled their 14-month-old divorce case.

The judgement states that the couple will share custody of the children despite Dias’s expressed desire to have sole custody – her petition to move the children to New York was withdrawn. Diaz also claimed her right to resume using her maiden name and the premarital agreement, which Diaz claimed she had been coerced into signing, was found to be valid.

Other terms of the settlement were not disclosed, but the agreement canceled trial dates set for the prenup, followed closely by a trial over child support, and yet another trial set for early next year over custody and visitation. As a result, the high-profile couple has dodged the inevitable media attention.

The financial details of the settlement are unknown at this time. Mrs. Griffin had sought $1 million in monthly expenses, including $300,000 for the use of a private jet, $160,000 for hotels and $2,000 in stationary costs on top of the already agreed upon figure.
